Someone in the crowd let out a low cry. Though the voice was quiet, it carried clearly across the silent square.
A spatial passage tore open, and several figures stepped out. At the head of the younger members was Ling Fengzhui, one of the Spirit Clan's finest talents.
When Lei Jingxiao and Huo Zhi saw him, their gazes locked onto him.
"Ling Fengzhui, I didn't think you'd dare show your face!" Lei Jingxiao's smile vanished, replaced by undisguised killing intent. Back at the Pill Tower, it was because of the Spirit Clan that Xiao Yan had been forced to "fall" while saving everyone.
Despite that murderous stare, Ling Fengzhui merely glanced at Lei Jingxiao. When he saw no sign of Xiao Yan, he ignored the provocation and went to stand off to one side without a word. Throughout it all, the Spirit Clan members kept their eyes lowered. They walked in step, their movements stiff, exuding a numb indifference, as though everything around them had nothing to do with them.
That left Lei Jingxiao at a loss. He wanted to stir up trouble, but with no one paying him any attention, he could hardly attack outright on his own.
The others were at a loss too. They all wanted to hold the Spirit Clan accountable, but its indifference made them reluctant to be the first to confront it. The awkward silence did not last long. Another spatial disturbance soon appeared.
This disturbance was so powerful that it instantly eclipsed the arrival of every Dou God Clan before it!
As that aura emerged, the weaker people present felt a bitter, bone-chilling cold and shuddered.
