The students below had thought Huang Kaiwen would say more.
To their surprise, Huang Kaiwen changed tack. "I know you're some of the smartest people in the world, so I've prepared the world's most IQ-testing games for you..."
Huang Kaiwen turned around and wrote down two web addresses. "These two games are not only fun, but also offer cash prizes. First place wins one million euros!"
Auto chess had been made.
And there were two versions.
One was based on League of Legends and simply built directly into the client.
The other was SNK Auto Chess.
After all, plenty of games already used this kind of gameplay. It was fairly mature, and once the models and data were done, it could go live. With sufficient production capacity, it was not difficult.
Especially since League of Legends already had existing models. Most of the work was on SNK's side.
Huang Kaiwen had not wanted to make League of Legends Auto Chess. That game relied too heavily on Tencent's channels. Why split the loot with someone else when keeping it all for yourself was more comfortable?
But League of Legends' market share was right there. There was no reason to turn down money.
So Huang Kaiwen had left himself an out. SNK Auto Chess would launch earlier, while some of League of Legends Auto Chess's synergies would overlap heavily with SNK's.
Once enough people were playing, the players of the two games would definitely start arguing over it.
If those "official version purists" could generate enough revenue for SNK, they would gradually abandon League of Legends Auto Chess and be funneled toward SNK. If not, SNK would be abandoned instead.
This sort of survival-of-the-fittest model was routine at Tencent's studios.
Huang the Ball King was merely borrowing someone else's ideas.
