The next morning, Huang Kaiwen saw Van Persie when he got up for breakfast.
"Where's Edwin?"
Huang Kaiwen asked with a smile.
"He went to reassure the staff. This incident caused quite a stir, and the national team doesn't want the outside world to know about it."
Van Persie said, rubbing his temples.
"Did the Saudis give an explanation?"
Huang Kaiwen asked curiously.
Van Persie nodded, glanced around the dining hall, but still did not speak.
Huang Kaiwen got up directly and pulled him into the conference room.
The China National Team's conference room was now swept for surveillance devices every day. They had even installed satellite jamming equipment.
Even the Americans would not find it easy to eavesdrop.
"So what exactly happened, Robin?"
Huang Kaiwen asked.
Van Persie tried to speak several times but held back, which only piqued Huang Kaiwen's interest.
More than a minute later, he finally gathered his thoughts and said, "This was premeditated, not some random murder. That eleven really did represent Shaqueel. His next target was my son."
"Why, though? There was no reason for that guy to attack staff members and players. They may all be on the same team, but they live in completely different worlds."
Huang Kaiwen spread his hands. "He had plenty of contact with the staff, but almost none with the players, right? And Shaqueel isn't the kind of kid who likes to mess with staff members."
Van Persie nodded and said with some disgust, "That guy wanted to make the news—a huge story. His boyfriend is from Suriname."
"Boyfriend?"
Huang Kaiwen asked, eyes wide.
Van Persie nodded. "Yes. It was pretty close to what you guessed before. His boyfriend had Surinamese heritage and was singled out during a clash with fans, resulting in an amputation. So he wanted
