Ch. 241The Oriole Waited Behind Them, and the Fate Demon God Was About to Show Off
Plot points and events
- Angry Shichen arrives, carrying the Great Daos of time, power, and destruction. The Dominion Sect System tries to command him, but Angry Shichen rejects the order and says he only wants to devour Tragic and Startled Shichen.
- Tragic Shichen identifies him as the Emotion of Anger—one of Shichen’s Seven Emotions—and warns Startled Shichen that he is extremely powerful. The Dominion Sect System realizes who Angry Shichen is and regrets not killing him earlier, but takes comfort in a restriction supposedly placed inside him by the Invincible System.
- Fate’s threads suddenly spread through the Chaos Void, trapping everyone. Pangu and the Fate Demon God appear, revealing that they had tracked the systems and deliberately waited for more targets to gather.
- The Demon God of Deception joins them. Pangu and Fate tease him about his “Marble Boy” reputation, briefly creating an awkward comic interlude.
- Angry Shichen interrupts the conversation and challenges Pangu to a rematch. Pangu accepts, limiting himself to the Chaos Realm’s Fourth Heaven. Their weapons clash.
- Meanwhile, the Fate Demon God turns on the trapped systems, declaring that their destinies are sealed and their lives forfeit.
Character developments and interactions
- Angry Shichen is established as bold, violent, and contemptuous of authority. Though linked to Shichen’s Seven Emotions, he denies knowing anything about that identity and focuses on fighting and devouring his counterparts.
- Tragic Shichen recognizes Angry Shichen and cautions Startled Shichen, but offers no explanation when Pangu questions why he left the Chaos World.
- Startled Shichen seeks clarification from Tragic Shichen and learns the danger Angry Shichen poses.
- The Dominion Sect System shifts from commanding Angry Shichen to fearing the implications of his identity, then quietly tries to summon the Invincible System.
- Pangu and the Fate Demon God reveal themselves as coordinated hunters: Fate tracks their targets, while Pangu supplies the force to eliminate them. Pangu welcomes Angry Shichen’s challenge; Fate focuses on the systems.
- The Demon God of Deception is pleased to reunite with Pangu and Fate, but becomes embarrassed when they connect him with his notorious “Marble Boy” persona.
Significant themes
- Fate versus agency: Fate claims to have charted the systems’ trajectories and declares their ending fixed, setting up a conflict between predestination and resistance.
- Identity and fragmentation: Angry Shichen’s connection to the Seven Emotions raises questions about what defines him, even as he rejects the label.
- Power and control: The systems’ attempts to command or constrain others are contrasted with Pangu and Fate’s strategic ambush and Angry Shichen’s refusal to submit.
- Recklessness and combat: Angry Shichen’s impatience turns a tense standoff into a direct fight, while Fate’s calm confidence suggests a broader, more calculated confrontation is beginning.
