Gauss Rays like a green ocean shot toward the Orks before them.
In just one volley, the Orks in front were vaporized by the Gauss Rays.
That level of damage did not make the Orks retreat. Instead, the deaths of those before them ignited their fighting spirit.
Their eagerness to brawl with powerful enemies swept away all thought. Right now, they only wanted a grand, earth-shaking Waaagh!
An Ork gunner stuffed a Gretchin into his crudely made cannon barrel.
A Gretchin was launched, letting out a shrill scream through the sky.
After landing amidst the enemy ranks, the cowardly, cunning Gretchin tried to stab their cheap bayonets into the Necrons' bones, but the enemy's bones were harder than the weapons in their hands.
The Ork Boyz behind them held plasma machine guns clearly modified from Tau Empire weapons and sprayed the enemy wildly. Their delighted laughter mixed with the thudding of kinetic weapons, blending the heat of battle with the exhilaration the Orks were venting.
There was even a Mekboy atop a half-crippled mech piled together from junk, struggling to raise its cannon barrel and aim it at the Necrons ahead.
Bang!
A red-stained shell shot out.
The Waaagh! Energy born from the collective consciousness altered the shell's explosive parameters, raising its yield by more than thirty percent over what it should have been.
A Necron was killed.
But these were merely the lowest-ranking Necron soldiers, cannon fodder among their kind. They could have as many such fodder troops as they wanted, all of them reconstructed through the Resurrection Protocol within the fortress.
The Orks' rate of killing was far slower than the Necrons' rate of regeneration.
The technological gap made fighting even these low-level Necrons immensely difficult.
"The Orks can't hold on much longer!" Cyrus watched the battlefield below.
