In normal realspace, barriers filled the boundary between the Warp and reality. Through certain blasphemies committed in reality, the Warp could weaken those barriers. The Spirit-Driving Dead Zone, however, directly inserted a new barrier between the two, completely isolating them.
This method of isolation was too forceful, directly severing the influence between realspace and the Warp. As a result, nearly everyone was affected by the Spirit-Driving Dead Zone, except the Necrons.
