The scientists merely made a few snide remarks about the C'tan fragment.
Then they turned their attention back to their laboratory terminals.
Although the C'tan was not pulling its weight, they certainly were.
Once the Colossus Project was complete, they could simply seize the nearest Necron territory containing a C'tan fragment and acquire another fragment to supply energy.
Moreover, Gamma World did not rely entirely on C'tan fragments. Other psychic laboratories were researching new energy sources for Gamma World. Their next step was to try sealing a star inside a structure similar to a Necron tesseract construct to provide power, though that would require a deeper understanding of gravity.
"Open the laboratory doors!"
A door leading into the depths of the laboratory slowly opened.
Beyond it lay all manner of bizarre Chaos xenos creatures. Every one of them was sealed inside transparent glass chambers, submerged in fluid.
At the same time, these creatures retained fragments of memory and thought.
They had completely lost their connection to the Warp, yet unlike other Chaos daemons or certain Chaos creatures, their very essence had not been banished with the expansion of the Spirit-Driving Dead Zone.
Their souls had not been banished. Their souls remained within the laboratory, as if something had imprisoned them inside these shells and prevented them from leaving.
The psychic laboratory also bore an extremely similar relationship to the Necrons' Spirit-Driving Dead Zone.
As a result, those within the psychic laboratory remained in a state of perpetual agony. This fear and unease would torment them forever, unless someone sent them away.
