Gamma, at a mining site on a metal planet.

Plates formed from heaps of extremely pure metal ore stretched endlessly. Ore excavated by the Gamma World that could not be directly used in production was piled near stars with immense gravitational pull.

The gravity of such stars could keep all those metal plates drawn close.

Upon those clusters of metal plates,

countless gray nanobots crawled.

The robots gathered into humanoid shapes, then condensed near the star into a new Gray Tempest, devouring vast quantities of anything it could consume.

When Gray Tempest devoured different types of ore, it acquired the properties of those ores.

Likewise, after consuming different things and evolving, it would display the traits it ought to possess.

For example, Gray Tempest could combine its nanobots into a massive Emperor-class Titan.

As long as her database contained the target's blueprints, the Emperor-class Titan she assembled would possess every form of Emperor-class attack, while being even more agile than a Titan.

Moreover, as long as her abilities were sufficient and the Nanite Storm under her command was large enough, she could directly simulate megastructure weapons, evolve into megastructure weapons, and possess their characteristics as well.

Of course, she needed to consume the corresponding metals and obtain the corresponding databases before she could fully evolve them. For example, if she wanted to become a Neutron Sweep, she needed a certain exotic xenos alloy, Living Metal possessed only by certain Necrons, and some Old Ones technologies within Blackstone technology that the Gamma World was temporarily unable to forge on a large scale.

All of that required massive amounts of consumption.

The Gamma World had prepared a total of five such massive planetary metal rings. They were all strategic equipment stockpiled by
