The four gods of the Warp had already prepared to strike at Gamma World, to display the bearing of the four gods upon Gamma World's legions.
But when the Emperor seemed about to rise, it was only the slightest movement. Yet in that instant, every measure taken by the four gods came to a standstill.
Nurgle stopped casting Chaos sorcery. Tzeentch stopped contemplating his schemes. Slaanesh sheathed the Crone Sword. Khorne lowered his horn.
Yet after waiting for a moment.
They did not see any further movement from the Emperor. It made them wonder whether the Emperor truly intended to rise.
They knew the Emperor would rise, but that would only happen when humanity stood on the brink of extinction. Humanity was nowhere near extinction now. With the Primarchs returning and Chaos being ambushed, this should have been the time for humanity to rise again. No matter what, the Emperor could not possibly abandon humanity's resurgence and choose to rise, destroying mankind.
That clearly did not fit what any race believed the Emperor would do.
Not even the most extreme among them could believe that the terrifying fifth god of the Warp sitting upon humanity's golden toilet would do such a thing.
"Lord of Pleasure!? What do we do?"
Seeing the Chaos daemon host led by Slaanesh, the Dark Prince, halt its advance, even the least loyal daemons of Slaanesh could see the Dark Prince's hesitation.
The arrow was already on the string. There was no turning back.

After pausing for an instant, Slaanesh resumed the order to attack.
They had already come this far.
If the people of Gamma World were allowed to leave alive, then Chaos might
