The number of contracts was limited. After all, the Afterlife Employment Service Center's system had limited capacity.
They needed to demonstrate greater value to earn better contracts.
After all, having learned of Chaos and the battlefield of the universe,
everyone wanted something to leave behind.
Even if it was not for themselves.

"The entire planet has been corrupted. How could there be such a severe plague here?"
A fanatical plague apostle lunged at them like a zombie.
This was a completely unnamed planet. The moment they set foot on it, the Purity Seals on their bodies began to burn.
An aged man wearing blue power fists seized an utterly hideous Chaos cultist. It seemed that, through the other man's twisted face, he saw the essence of the Warp from which he came.
"A daemon?"
"Who sent you?"
"Ah!!!"
The possessing daemon within the cultist's body screamed, terrified by his sheer presence.
It seemed even this daemon had heard of his infamous reputation.

The Chaos daemon clutched in his hand was banished amid the burst remains of its host.
The scream drew a large number of Chaos minions. Fanatical plague cultists brought by the Faithless Curse were closing in on them, and the crazed believers launched a frenzied attack.
Two Honour Guard wearing Imperial Honor Laurels and carrying Chapter relics stood at his side, shielding the Chapter Master between them. The honors and insignia covering their bodies were the greatest deterrent to Chaos daemons.
A pale green Chaos Beacon hung overhead, shrouding them beneath its glow.
"Which traitor will emerge from the power Chaos has gathered?"
Trajan, Titus's teacher, brought his squad to report to Chapter Master Calgar.
