Theresa looked at the girls imprisoned before her. They appeared to be ordinary people. Though they looked about the same size as Theresa, Theresa was already over thirty, while these girls were truly just children.
Little girls locked in laboratory cells were criminals?
How could that be!
"Don't worry! It's all right now... We'll get you out soon." Himeko did not consider herself a good person. Even after becoming a Valkyrie, she had never thought of herself as kind.
But... as a human being, she could not possibly lack the most basic emotions: sympathy, pity, sorrow...
Anyone would have such emotions, unless they were not human. Even those "great villains" had possessed such feelings at the beginning.
The girls imprisoned before her all deserved Himeko's sympathy and help. Himeko knew what they had been through.
Though the cell was dark enough that ordinary people could not even see what was inside, Himeko could see clearly... There were five little girls in total, none older than fifteen. Normally... children their age should have been attending school and enjoying their parents' love. Yet they... had no human rights whatsoever, enduring all kinds of human experiments day and night.
"Step back a little. I don't have a key... I might have to use force to open the door."
Himeko smiled at the pitiful little girl before her and spoke softly.
"Mm, thank you!"
Hearing Himeko's words, the little girl thanked her politely, then retreated several steps.
Once she was sure the girl was far enough away, Himeko clasped her hands in the air... A greatsword appeared in her hands once more. Then... she aimed at the cell door's lock and brought it down with one slash.

A piercing sound rang out as Himeko's sword severed
