Later, a shop assistant from a roadside store found the commotion too noisy and bad for business, so he took out some money, bought a pear, and gave it to the Daoist.
After thanking him, the Daoist finished the pear and said he would treat everyone else to some as well. He immediately dug a pit several inches deep in the ground, placed the pear core inside, covered it with soil, then asked someone nearby for hot water and began watering it.
Then... a tender shoot truly sprouted from the ground. Before long, it grew into a lush, leafy tree. In the blink of an eye, it flowered and bore fruit, and large, fragrant pears filled its branches.
The sight stunned many of the people around them, including Wu Yi and Wang Zheyi. They had encountered a true Daoist!
The Daoist then picked the pears from the tree and distributed them among the onlookers. Even Wu Yi and Wang Zheyi had tasted them, and they truly were
