The sun still hung high in the sky, while the breeze made the leaves on the trees sway in a chaotic rustle. The flowers and grass on the ground trembled all over as well. A fine drizzle began to fall, like transparent silver needles dropping from the sky and striking the ground, shattering into countless sprays of mist that rose from the earth. Under the sunlight, that mist became multicolored.
However, the puddles on the ground were growing deeper and deeper. Before long, the water on the road had risen over their feet, gathering into little streams...
"Sunshine and rain at the same time—how annoying!"
Princess Kaguya lay sprawled across Fu Hua's back, looking at the rainy scenery around them with a sour expression.
"This is a sunshower. It won't last long; it'll pass soon." Fu Hua did not think much of it. This was an official road... yet there was no one around, only weeds and trees lining both sides, with no houses in sight.
A barrier enveloped the three of them, preventing the rain from touching them at all. Still, the road beneath their feet was gradually turning to mud from the rain. Without magical power, walking through it would certainly have been quite troublesome.
Fu Hua was using immortal power beneath her feet to keep the mud away so it would not stick to her.
