Being treated like this by Durandal left Esdeath deeply displeased and furious, but she could not deny Durandal's words. Indeed, compared to Durandal... she was the weaker one.
She could not understand why Durandal was so powerful, nor what those two massive Stands she controlled were. But it did not make her submit. Instead, an even stronger desire to become stronger surged within her.
The last time she had felt this strongly was when her father died.
But Durandal paid no attention to Esdeath's attitude. She stared at the town ahead. Though the Three Beasts and the soldiers were extremely unwilling, faced with Durandal's unyielding stance, they still gave up their time of enjoyment and withdrew from the town.
Even so, quite a few tragedies had occurred in the town during the time it took Durandal to arrive. At least one-fifth of the town's buildings had been destroyed.
