Staring at Esdeath in front of them, Najenda brought out her Imperial Arms: Pumpkin. There might have been three Imperial Arms Users on their side, but Najenda knew very well... that wasn't nearly enough to impress Esdeath.
Esdeath often lost to Durandal, but that was only because she was up against the monster that was Durandal. Setting Durandal aside, Esdeath was absurdly powerful. The sight of Esdeath freezing an entire river earlier was still vivid in Najenda's mind.
"How naive, Najenda. But we've been generals of the Empire for years, and we've never fought each other. Let's see what you can do!"
Esdeath didn't look the least bit concerned by the three Imperial Arms Users before her. If anything, she seemed excited. She and Najenda had been colleagues for so long, yet had never truly fought.
For one thing, Najenda had deliberately avoided her. For another, Esdeath had always kept her attention on Durandal, leaving her no time to spare for Najenda.
But now that Najenda had betrayed the Empire, Esdeath finally had the chance to see what she could do.
As soon as she finished speaking, Esdeath raised both hands. Two ice swords formed in them.
"Then... let's begin!"
With a delighted smile, she glanced at Najenda. The next instant, Esdeath surged forward, appearing before the three Imperial Arms Users. She thrust an ice sword straight at one of them, who wore a mask.
The masked Imperial Arms User hurried to block her attack, but...
"Freeze!"
Esdeath hurled the ice sword in her other hand at another Imperial Arms User, interrupting his attack. Then she turned her now-free hand toward the masked Imperial Arms User in front of her.
In an instant, ice encased half of the Imperial Arms User's body.
