"Mei's cooking really is the best! It's far more delicious than the teachers' cafeteria food. Just thinking that Lady Raiden Mei will have such amazing skills in the future makes me look forward to it!"
As she ate the exquisite breakfast on the table, the laid-back Himeko could not help but sigh. This was what life was supposed to be like...
It was not as though she could not cook. As a girl raised in the Far East, she had at least passed home economics. Her cooking was just average, nothing particularly impressive, so she rarely cooked for herself. She usually ate staff meals, and the kitchen at home had practically never been used.
In the past, she had merely made do, eating only to fill her stomach. But now... ever since Herrscher Mei had arrived, meals had become a pleasure for her.
"As long as you like it, Teacher Himeko!"
Before Herrscher Mei could say anything, Sky answered as though Himeko's praise for Mei had been directed at her.
"I wasn't talking about you. What are you so happy about...?"
Himeko looked at Sky strangely.
"It's all the same! All the same, right, Mei?"
"Mm."
Herrscher Mei showed no other reaction, merely nodding slightly.
"You two really are... close."
Seeing Herrscher Mei's reaction, Himeko did not know what else to say. The two of them were so close they were like "one person." It really was enviable.
"Oh, right! Sky, Mei, the students have their monthly exams today. Do you want to go watch?"
After finishing breakfast, Himeko picked up her coat and walked to the door. Then, as though recalling something, she turned around and asked the two inside.
"Exams?"
"Mm. Aside from the written test, there's also a combat test."
