Outside the examination grounds, Skyvault and Herrscher Mei sat in their chairs, watching the large screen ahead.
The screen was broadcasting St. Freya High School's students during their practical exams.
St. Freya's practical exams were not some martial arts tournament, so there were basically no fights between students. Instead, they challenged or killed Honkai Beasts.
Of course, St. Freya could not possibly capture several hundred Honkai Beasts just for one exam and have the students fight them. That was unrealistic...
Not only would it be troublesome, it would also be extremely dangerous.
Other than the very best students, St. Freya's students could not be considered professional Valkyries. Sending them straight into life-and-death combat with Honkai Beasts was far too dangerous.

On the screen, Bronya stepped onto the field with a Homu plushie in her arms. Her opponent for the practical exam was a Honkai Beast more than ten meters tall.
Facing the enormous Honkai Beast, Bronya showed no trace of nervousness. She stood calmly before it, as though she did not take it seriously at all.
When the exam began, the giant Honkai Beast charged at Bronya... but Bronya did not move. Only when it was about to crash into her did she raise one hand.
