"What? Jump down?!"
Kagome Higurashi stared at the dry well before her. It was pitch-black below, which looked rather frightening. On top of that, Yae Sakura had just said that this well was called the Bone-Eater's Well because any bones thrown into it would vanish.
That made it even more terrifying. And now she was supposed to jump in?
"Relax. Nothing will happen with me here!"
Wrapping one arm around Kagome Higurashi's waist and giving her no chance to refuse, Yae Sakura jumped straight down with her.
"Ah!"
She had jumped without warning, not even giving Kagome time to react. It scared her out of her wits!
Yet just as her scream rang out, they had already reached the bottom of the well. Though she did not know whether it was an illusion... despite it being a dry well, it felt as if they were underwater.
Before they could check what was happening, that sensation of being underwater vanished, and both of them were standing firmly on the bottom of the well.
"All right, we're at the bottom."
Seeing Kagome Higurashi clinging tightly to her with her eyes shut, Yae Sakura gently patted her back.
"Huh? We're already at the bottom?"
Hearing Yae Sakura's voice, Kagome Higurashi cautiously opened her eyes. After checking herself... she seemed perfectly fine. Nothing had happened to her, and she had reached the bottom safely.
"Whew... thank goodness."
Once she confirmed she was all right, Kagome Higurashi finally relaxed!
At the same time, she could not help shooting Yae Sakura a resentful look. That had been far too reckless. She had dragged her along and jumped without a word, scaring her half to death.
"But how are we supposed to get back up?"
Looking upward again, Kagome immediately noticed something was wrong. Shouldn't there have
