Outside a city at the border of the Western Lands, Yae Sakura and Kikyo had traveled all the way here.
For the past two days, the two had been traveling along the borders of the Western Lands, mainly to stop the Panther Tribe's indiscriminate slaughter. The Panther Tribe had been acting with increasing frequency these past few days. In just a few days, the two had encountered several such incidents and driven back tens of thousands of demons.
It had to be said, this truly was a world with more demons than humans. However, only about a tenth of those tens of thousands of demons were panther demons. The rest were other kinds of demons. Many belonged to races once subordinate to the Panther Tribe, while others had pledged allegiance to Panther King or had been forced into service by the panther demons.
If they could not be used, their souls would be used to increase Panther King's strength. It was that simple.
Yae Sakura and Kikyo had a feeling that Panther King would personally make a move within a few days. Unfortunately, although they had captured quite a few panther demons, they had not found Panther King's exact location. Otherwise, it would have been easier to go there in advance and capture him.
"There's a city up ahead. Do you want to go in and take a look?"
Looking at the city ahead, Yae Sakura asked Kikyo beside her. They had been out in the wilderness these past few days, and she did want to sit down somewhere in the city.
"If you want to go, then let's go together."
How could Kikyo not know what Yae Sakura was thinking? She did not refuse, instead slinging her bow and arrows over her back as they headed toward the city.
