Kumoko looked at a frog ahead of her that thought it had hidden itself well and could not help but sigh. She had no idea how many frogs she had eaten in the Upper Stratum. Their awful taste had completely killed any desire she had to eat them again.

This frog was clearly not originally a monster of the Middle Stratum. It was merely a frog that had lived in the Upper Stratum and evolved to adapt to the Middle Stratum's environment. Its attributes and skills had not improved much at all; it had simply evolved Heat Nullification to suit the Middle Stratum.
So it was still trash!
After reaching LV8, Kumoko's nearly four-digit speed was so fast she was practically an afterimage. She instantly dashed in front of the frog and, the moment it opened its mouth, tossed poison into it.
Even with LV2 Poison Resistance, the frog lasted only a few seconds before dying!
