The weather was clear, without a cloud in the sky.
Brilliant sunlight poured down with warmth, while the cool breeze carried away the heat, making everything feel incredibly comfortable.
The weather could not have been better. A day like this was perfect for traveling, hiking, or having a picnic.
However, their current location was rather unfortunate. Despite the rare good weather, the sunlight was blocked by the lush, dense forest and could not reach them.
Within the forest, Fu Hua, Shiraori, Fei Lun, and Ariel lay atop a gigantic spider's back as it ambled forward. Behind them... was a sight too pitiful to bear!
Behind them was a child barely clinging to life—more accurately, a one- or two-year-old toddler. She was adorably cute and looked like she had only just learned to walk, the kind of child who could not walk for long.
Yet the gasps coming from her mouth were beginning to sound wrong. Of course, do not get the wrong idea. No one was beastly enough to lay a hand on such a small child, even if she could escape death once a day.
She was only such a tiny child. Even if she could walk, she should only have been able to take a few steps. No matter how one looked at it, long-distance travel was not something someone her age should be doing.
Yet this toddler wore an expression as though she were about to die as she climbed over mountains and through valleys! There was not even a proper path here, only uneven slopes. Branches, loose rocks, and poisonous insects were everywhere. Even adults would not dare walk carelessly through this place, and could not get far even if they tried.
This one- or two-year-old toddler had already been walking for most of the day!
