When Himeko woke, she was roused by a knock at the door. It was far from pleasant—having one's sweet dreams disturbed so early in the morning was truly irritating.
Someone with a bad case of morning grumpiness might have been unable to resist hitting someone.
But Brunhilde's anxious voice accompanied the knocking, making Himeko sober up a little.
She opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was... Randgrith, the Valkyrie who had already bonded with her and become her divine weapon.
Randgrith lay beside her, still dressed, asleep. Her cheeks remained flushed, and she seemed not to have fully recovered from her drunken haze.
Himeko thought back carefully. After winning the battle between humanity and gods yesterday, she had drunk with the thirteen Valkyries. It had even been divine wine from the god of wine. Was that what made it divine wine? Even she had been unable to resist its allure and had gotten completely drunk.
She vaguely remembered that Randgrith had carried her back to the room to rest.
But Randgrith had drunk some as well. Though she had not drunk nearly as much as Himeko, it seemed that... neither of them had washed up. They had simply gone to bed fully clothed.
Himeko raised her head and looked at the sky outside the window. It should already be dawn. No wonder Brunhilde was so anxious outside. It was the second day already... and she had yet to see today's fighter. How could Brunhilde not be worried?
Shaking her head, Himeko sat up. As she prepared to open the door, her gaze returned to Randgrith on the bed. After thinking for a few seconds, she reached out to the Valkyrie.
The next instant, the Valkyrie Randgrith transformed directly into an emerald-set ring and slid onto Himeko's index
