"Yae Sakura, over here... Hurry up. The fireworks show is about to begin."
Yoimiya led Yae Sakura to a small hill, then leaped up its slope with practiced ease in just a few steps before extending her hand down to Yae Sakura.
"Okay."
Looking at Yoimiya above her, Yae Sakura lightly sprang up the slope in a few steps and grabbed the hand Yoimiya had offered. Only then did Yoimiya smile faintly and lead her beneath a rather large Thunder Sakura tree.
Several massive boulders lay scattered there. Yoimiya found the flattest one, patted it lightly, and sat down.
Seeing what Yoimiya did, Yae Sakura hesitated for less than a second before sitting down as well.
Just as she settled in, before she could say anything, a streak of white light rose into Inazuma's sky. When it reached high overhead, it exploded with a bang...
The fireworks bloomed before them like a shower of dark golden rain. They shone in a moment of splendor, turning the sky as bright as day, before countless stars rushed toward them and quickly faded away in a magnificent final curtain.
One after another, fireworks streaked through the clouds of the night like a sea of stars racing past an astronaut's window. Though they withered after blooming, their instant of brilliance was enough. Better to burn into ashes than rot away in the mud.
Watching the breathtaking fireworks, Yae Sakura wanted to say something to Yoimiya. Yet the instant she turned to look at the girl, she discovered that Yoimiya seemed somewhat different from usual.
Even if she spoke to her, Yoimiya would not answer right away.
Yoimiya could usually chat endlessly, but whenever fireworks rose into the sky, she would fall unusually silent and simply tilt her head back to admire the beauty above.
