"Sorry, I misunderstood you."
Mai Sakurajima had more or less figured out what was going on. It was not what she had imagined at all. If anything, this high school girl seemed to take very good care of Griseo.
So she put down her phone and apologized to Miko Yotsuya.
"It's fine. This isn't the first time."
Miko Yotsuya was helpless. Griseo was adorable, but sometimes Miko could not tell whether she did it on purpose, always saying things in public that could easily be misunderstood.
"I understand. Little Griseo's personality is different from most people's. Also, even though you know me, let me formally introduce myself. I'm Mai Sakurajima. Saku as in Sakurajima, and Mai as in Mai Sakurajima."
Mai glanced at the innocent-looking Griseo beside her and smiled. She did not dwell on it.
Griseo's words could be rather misleading...
"Hello, Miss Sakurajima. I'm Miko Yotsuya. You could say I'm Griseo's older sister. I was worried about Griseo, so I'm sorry for showing up uninvited..."
"I understand. Griseo really is someone people worry about. Would you like to join us for the rest of the day, Miss Yotsuya?"
Mai wore a bright smile. Although she still hoped Miko would refuse, she did not mind having another friend.
But based on her past experiences, that would be difficult. She had already given up on it. Especially since Miko was a girl around her age; girls her age usually felt at least some envy and jealousy toward her.
Only when she was with Griseo could she completely put aside her worries and pretense and show her truest self.
But...
"Is that okay? I won't be disturbing you too much, will I?"
Miko Yotsuya clearly had no intention of leaving.
"Of course not. One more person will make it livelier."
Seeing
