Oda Maiko stood quietly at the end of the line outside the bookstore.
Every so often, she scrolled through Twitter on her phone and didn't find it boring at all. Everyone else was much the same. In this day and age, having no phone and no internet really would be torture.
But with a phone, it was different. Time slipped away unnoticed while browsing websites and watching videos.
However, Oda Maiko soon noticed something was off. Why was every customer leaving after making a purchase carrying the latest issue of a manga weekly?
And it wasn't a Shueisha weekly, either, but one from Hakusensha. Yet these people were all boys! Although Hakusensha did not cater exclusively to women, and some of its serials were classic hot-blooded shonen fare.
Most of them still leaned more toward shojo manga.
"No... no way! Were they all here for Stars's new work? Didn't they say they weren't buying it?"
Oda Maiko panicked, even summoning the courage to greet and question the unfamiliar man in front of her.
"Excuse me, sorry to bother you."
"N-No problem. What is it?"
The man had been a little annoyed while playing on his phone, but the moment he saw that the person behind him was a very cute and pretty girl, his attitude immediately turned somewhat shy.
"Um... are you here for Stars's new work too?"
"Of course! I've been a diehard Stars fan for ten years. It's Stars's new work, and it's part of the Honkai series, so naturally I have to support it."
The instant Oda Maiko mentioned Stars, the man became serious.
He looked like the sort of person who only stanned Stars.
"Besides, if it weren't for Stars's work, why would I buy a Hakusensha weekly? I'm not interested in the other manga. I'd
