Maid Rita Begins Cleaning

Because Rita was carrying a suitcase, the experienced driver gallantly helped place it in the trunk. Then, like a butler, he hurriedly opened the rear door and invited Rita and Mashiro Shiina inside.

His entire sequence of movements was smooth and effortless, making it feel as though they were receiving British butler-style service.

And although the driver was already somewhat old, looking to be nearly sixty... it had to be said that he was quite handsome.

After telling the driver their destination, the car immediately fell silent. After a while, Rita could not stand the atmosphere any longer. She glanced at Mashiro Shiina, who was sitting quietly beside her, took out a pack of gum she had bought earlier, picked out two pieces, and held them before Mashiro Shiina's cherry lips.

"Mashiro, open your mouth..."

Mashiro turned her head, her clear gaze slanting upward at Rita as though she did not understand what Rita was feeding her.

"Gum. Don't you like it?"

"Oh, I like it..."

Only then did Mashiro Shiina open her mouth. Rita successfully fed her, and watching Mashiro Shiina increasingly resemble a little pet she had raised, Rita could not help thinking so.

With that thought, Rita took a few pieces of gum for herself as well.

But while Rita gently chewed her gum, Mashiro continued silently watching her. It was clearly Mashiro's first time in Japan, and she should have been seeing the surrounding scenery for the first time, yet she seemed to have no curiosity whatsoever about anything around her. She simply stared at Rita as though there were a flower growing on Rita's face.

"What are you looking at? Is there a flower on my face?"
