But before the steam could dissipate, the cold turned it into shards of ice that surged with the current toward the flames pouring from Wanyudo's mouth. Just as the current was about to freeze Enma Ai and her three companions solid, black flames enveloped them in a protective barrier.
The cold vanished without a trace upon touching the black flames, while the flames themselves did not diminish at all.

Rita glanced at the black flames in Enma Ai's hand. She had not expected this ability at all. Enma Ai actually possessed such strange flames; Rita had thought her powers were all mysterious and unpredictable, but lacked offensive strength.
