After soaking in the hot spring for about an hour, Rita finally stepped out. Though she could have stayed as long as she liked, an hour was about enough.
It was not that she felt uncomfortable. On the contrary, she was so comfortable she was about to fall asleep. If she stayed any longer, she might really end up sleeping in the water that night.
After leaving the hot spring, Rita and Hashiko Yui each returned to their rooms. They played on their phones for a little while. It felt rather late, yet neither of them was sleepy at all.
Rita took out the tea and teacup she had brought with her. Just as she was about to make some tea, she realized there seemed to be no water left in the room.
"I'll go get some hot water..."
Setting down the teapot, Rita opened the door and stepped outside.
The inn's corridor was silent. Though the lights were on, it still gave off an eerie, unknown sort of feeling. Rita did not take it to heart at all and went straight to the front desk to fill up with plenty of hot water.
She did not actually need to come out herself and could have asked one of the attendants for help, but Rita had no intention of disturbing them.
After filling up with hot water, Rita started back. Once she entered the corridor again, she had not gone more than a few steps when... she suddenly noticed a peculiar room.
