As the last ray of sunlight vanished, it wasn't long before night fell completely. Yet Mountain Stream Shrine, one of the city's main venues, became livelier instead. Of course... that liveliness referred to the area around the shrine, not the shrine itself.
Although there were certainly plenty of visitors inside the shrine as one of the event venues, it was still a shrine. Whether people believed in gods or not, they could not forget basic courtesy and principles.
Besides, people in the Far East had always held stronger beliefs in spirits and gods. So at the shrine, they followed its rules and could not make loud noises or cause a disturbance.
The shopping streets around the shrine, however, were bustling beyond measure. Especially during an ice festival like this, there were festival-themed specialties and goods everywhere.
Himeko and little Himeko walked along the street leading to the shrine, occasionally buying something particularly distinctive. It was a rare festival event, and both of them looked very happy.
