Slicked-back Hair decided to sell off any loot he could as quickly as possible, even if it meant taking a slight loss. Then he would leave this troublesome place at once and head for Nashkel.

Marvin, meanwhile, decided to visit the Friendly Arm Inn first, ask the gnome proprietor about the situation, and inform the Harpers of the mind flayers' scheme.

After that, he would continue preparing for the quest to find the female knight.

If conditions in Friendly Arm did not improve, he would head north ahead of schedule.

The marsh where the female knight was located lay along the Chionthar River, northeast of Friendly Arm, over a hundred miles away in a straight line.

Sooner or later, he had to head north anyway.

Though Baldur's Gate was hardly a pleasant place to live, security in several of its surrounding satellite towns was still passable—at the very least, far better than in present-day Friendly Arm.

Rivington, for instance, was quite suitable for settling down.

The Friendly Arm Inn was a massive rectangular stone structure. Compared to the cultist fortress it had been over a century ago, its overall appearance had not changed much.

With its formidable defenses and Garl Glittergold's temple right beside it, even criminals bent on causing trouble would not choose this place as a target.

Because it offered a safe place to stay, the Friendly Arm Inn had been receiving more and more guests these past few days.

Yet the gnome proprietor was not overwhelmed.

That was because the inn had recently hired five new waitresses.

They were all lovely and beautiful, with curvaceous figures. The moment they appeared, they became popular with the customers. Some bored adventurers even ordered a mug of dark beer and sat there all day just to admire their beautiful forms.
