It primarily recruited cultivators from society who had comprehended sword intent, or showed promise of doing so, and gave them advanced training with stronger faculty and greater resources.

Rather than leaving them to grow on their own, scattered through society, the program would accelerate the formation of a fighting force from the lower ranks to the higher ones.

Unlike the sixteen-year-old students in the Immortal Sect's Schools of Dao Cultivation, the cultivators in the Swordsmanship Program were generally adults who had been through many trials. Hence the name Adult Swordsmanship Program.

In fact, this policy of intervening in the Schools of Dao Cultivation at Immortal Sect universities was deeply controversial. It had been debated countless times, and many people opposed it.

There were two main reasons.

The first was hatred. The Great Sun Sword Pavilion had slaughtered too many people back then. The teachers and elders of the Nascent Soul True Lords now in power had lived through the Great Sun Sword Pavilion's era; the Spirit Transformation cultivators had experienced it firsthand. Their views could not be ignored.

The second was the difference in their paths.

Consider the Great Sun Sword Sect and the Great Sun Dharma Sect of the Northern Plains, which had sprung from the same source.

They had originally been cultivators of the Great Sun Sect. Many Nascent Soul True Lords of the two sects had shared bonds forged through life and death over hundreds, even thousands, of years. They had shielded each other from blows on the battlefield time and again. Whether one practiced spells or the sword, they had treated each other alike.

Why, then, had they suddenly turned on each other to the death?

That was the difference between their paths.

For now,
