"Revive the Dao Child?"
The beautiful, ethereal woman fell into thought.
This generation's Azurewood Daoist Heir was not yet dead.
A wisp of her soul's essence still resided in the Azurewood Heavenly Seed. It would not dissipate for a hundred years, so revival was possible—but it would cost ten times as much as raising a new Daoist Heir.
Even she hesitated at that price, unable to decide.
The resources needed to raise a Daoist Heir were no ordinary things. Though a Daoist Heir was only at the Golden Core realm, raising one required top-tier Void Refining heavenly treasures!
And not just any Void Refining heavenly treasures.
The Azurewood Heavenly Seed, Grand Pure Divine Iron, Five-Element Void Copper, Black Tortoise Divine Gold... Immortal Metals from the Immortal Order's deepest reserves had to form the core. Only then could one be called a Daoist Heir.
Now, that cost would be multiplied tenfold!
It was terrifying.
It meant taking out all the heavenly treasures that could have raised ten generations of Daoist Heirs and spending them on one who had already failed.
The thought was agonizing. It would empty the sect's savings at a stroke, likely leaving enough heavenly treasures for only one or two more Daoist Heirs.
The orderly succession of the sect's Daoist Heirs would suddenly face enormous risk.
If problems arose with the next few generations after those treasures were spent, the sect might suffer a gap in its Void Refining cultivators!
For all these reasons, the Immortal Orders had almost never revived a Daoist Heir in their history.
In the exceedingly rare exceptions, a reigning Void Refining expert's own child had possessed sufficient talent and happened to become a Daoist Heir. Only then had the expert revived them at any cost.
For anyone other than one's own child—even a
