Cold Intercalation

Primordial Central Heaven.

The Lunar Yin hung high overhead. Filaments of moonlight fell to the ground and turned to water; clear springs surged forth, and beads of dew like pearls clung to the jade walls of palaces all around.

Snow lay thick and white, settling as frost. Countless rays of [Ji Water] billowed across the sky, emerald and silver-white blending as they spread...

The gates of Jade Dust Hall thundered open. The two Golden Seats, [Lunar Yin] and [Ji Water], manifested in a cascade of visions.

There were scenes of fairy maidens flying to the moon, of common folk praying for rain and sweet showers falling to earth, of the clear and the turbid within the Ink Pool...

Natural scenes mingled with human rites. A sudden chill gripped heaven and earth, and as the two Golden Seats intertwined, an entirely new exalted seat took shape!

It was ice, frost, sleet, and gloom... It held the subtlety of cold concealed and bitter chill lying in wait, of yin joining yang.

It was the fifth water of the Water Virtue Dao Path, beyond the Four Waters Dao Lineage—[Ji Water], [Zhen Water], [Bi Water], and [Shen Water]!

It was—[Cold Intercalation]!

Light in substance and bitterly cold in nature, it stood at the boundary between Water Virtue and Lunar Yin!

Palace of Vast Cold.

"This... what is this?"

Qin Ruxue stopped teaching the Dao. Leaving Heavenly Baleful and the other bewildered children below, she stepped outside the Palace of Vast Cold.

Radiance churned across the sky before a cold rain began to fall...

The cold rain was only an outward sign. What truly shook her was that Golden Seat!

She had sensed the [Lunar Yin] Golden Seat before, so she knew how vast and terrifying such an exalted seat was.
