After reaching Purple Mansion, Divine Abilities were hard to come by.
He had attained Purple Mansion through "Longlasting Sweet Rain." Later, through exchanges with fellow cultivators, he had obtained the Purple Mansion art for "Forestbank Concealment" from the White Clan and found a manual for cultivating "Wind-Approaching Foundation."
Only the fourth [Winnowing Basket Water] Divine Ability had eluded him, and he had no way to seek an audience with Mystic Void Subtle Origin Lord.
In the end, with a little luck, he had managed to find a [Winnowing Basket Water] Purple Mansion manual on the northern grasslands. It cultivated the profoundly mysterious Divine Ability "Moon in Water."
Unfortunately, the ability was difficult to master, and Fang Daoling had failed several times.
If the manual had not come with the Lunar Azure Qi he needed—and more than one portion at that—he might have concluded the method was impossible. After all, many ancient arts could no longer be cultivated because their required qi had vanished.
But luck had put the necessary True Qi in his hands. Without it, he might never have resolved to cultivate the art.
He had gained a great deal from Blackwater Blessed Land and traded for another batch of Purple Mansion Spirit Assets and pills. Now, after several failures, he had finally raised his Dao Foundation into Purple Mansion and transformed it into his fourth Divine Ability!
Though the ability had only just taken shape and had yet to reach perfection, he could now be called a man who possessed all four arts!
