The azure-robed Daoist's eyes filled with emotion.
"We have cultivated through hundreds of millions of kalpas, guiding worthy talents westward. Alas, our great faith has only just begun to flourish, yet such a calamity has arisen. How arduous is our Dao!"
At those words, the other figure wore a compassionate expression and spoke softly.
"This calamity cannot be avoided. Yet the Devil Ancestor's followers are also living beings adrift in the sea of suffering. We once made a great vow to deliver all living beings beneath Heaven and Earth. So long as they have an affinity with our faith, there will come a day when they return to the proper path!"
The azure-robed Daoist's gaze shifted at this.
"Senior Brother is compassionate. I cannot compare!"
After a slight pause, he continued.
"However, that person's origins are most peculiar. Even we cannot deduce his roots, which is quite astonishing. In Senior Brother's view, could someone else be behind this matter?"
The yellow-robed Daoist holding the Blessing Divine Pestle shook his head.
"This calamity was born through the natural evolution of Heaven and Earth. Now, immortals and gods steal Heaven and Earth's creation, treating all things as straw dogs. The myriad spirits have thus bred resentment, fueling calamities. That is why this devilish tribulation has come to be!"
The azure-robed Daoist frowned.
"Then it seems this devil being has quite a measure of destiny!"
The yellow-robed Daoist nodded.
"Judging from the omens of his birth, he is indeed no small matter. His roots may be no inferior to yours or mine!"
The azure-robed Daoist's eyes moved, a trace of astonishment rising within them.
"Can Heaven and Earth still give birth to innate spirits like us?"
