Sasuke used Kirin against Itachi after outlasting his Amaterasu and exploiting the chakra he had spent on his strongest techniques. Future Sasuke witnessed the attack and wondered why this world’s events were unfolding ahead of schedule.

• Second Pillar escaped Itachi’s Amaterasu with an Orochimaru-style Substitution Technique, then pierced him with Chidori Sharp Spear while Susanoo was still forming.
• Itachi struck Second Pillar away with Susanoo and told him his chakra was depleted, but Sasuke pointed out that Itachi had also spent chakra on Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo.
