Thwip!
A crisp whistle of an arrow rang out as it pierced a giant tiger's neck, killing it in a single strike.
"Ina, well done. You're now strong enough to fight a level-four magical beast one-on-one and kill it!" Huang Long watched Ina perform freely, a trace of satisfaction flashing through his eyes.
Another day had passed. With Huang Long's base, he could now gather gold at an average rate of 1,000 per hour, while continuously training Elves. In a single day, Huang Long had gained a total of fifty-four Elves. Forty of them continuously mined the gold mine, bringing in 4,000 units of gold every hour, while nine were divided into three groups to harvest resources at three different sites.
For some reason, all the creatures on this island might attack members of the Night Elf faction, yet they paid no attention to the Elves roaming about without restraint.
Huang Long guessed that this was related to the Elves' special nature. Elves were ancient spirits that dwelled in Kalimdor Forest—legend had it that they were the souls of dead Night Elves, though this had never been confirmed. Elves lived peacefully alongside the Night Elves and served ancient trees. They could transform into various trees and grow into living structures.
For the time being, Huang Long no longer needed to worry about gold. At last, he understood what it meant to have wealth fall from the sky.
He was now constantly honing Ina, the archer captain's combat abilities. As a lord, Huang Long knew very well that his own strength did not necessarily have to be the greatest. He only needed to hold a few formidable methods in reserve. Matters of battle could be left to heroes or these semi-hero captains.
Heroes possessed incredibly powerful combat instincts. Perhaps Huang Long was not even qualified to teach them. Only these semi-hero captains, who were merely newly born souls, needed a mentor's guidance. Huang Long could originally have let the heroes teach them, but since the heroes had yet to appear, he could only force himself to do it.
Fortunately, these semi-hero captains were all exceptionally talented. With only a slight explanation of the general idea and no need for demonstrations, they could draw inferences from one example and grasp the whole concept.
"Looks like I didn't teach this disciple for nothing!" Huang Long let out a soft breath and wiped the sweat from his brow. Luckily, I still remember a little about the shooting techniques of those famous generals. Otherwise, I'd have made a fool of myself today.
As he watched Ina continuously instruct the twenty archers behind her, Huang Long smiled again.
"At least these twenty hours weren't wasted." Huang Long looked at the increasingly disciplined female Elf archers, satisfaction flickering in his eyes. Perhaps because these Elves were puppets, their responsiveness was not especially sharp. However, according to the Warcraft Elf System, once these ordinary soldiers reached level six, they would undergo a marvelous transformation. In Huang Long's view, they would likely gain souls of their own.
Still, it was too early to think about that.
To Huang Long, the Night Elf faction's troops becoming puppets had both advantages and disadvantages.
The advantage was that, since they had no flesh or blood, Huang Long would not hesitate in troop battles. He could truly treat them as a game and toy with his enemies in the palm of his hand. Of course, the disadvantages were equally obvious: many of Huang Long's signature attack methods could not be easily understood by them. There were gains and losses alike.
"Alright, recall the troops and prepare to move out. Our next target is this white tiger." Huang Long pointed at a spot on the map in his hand and smiled at Ina.
Over the past two days, Huang Long had used the Elves' vision to map most of the island's terrain and magical beasts. This allowed him to easily distinguish the strength of their energy, then make plans based on that to hunt them down.
"Yes, my lord!" Archer Captain Ina seemed capable of saying only those words. No matter what Huang Long proposed, she would accept it without hesitation. Her serious attitude even made Huang Long feel ashamed.
Damn it, what a perverse system. It doesn't even give me a prompt that I can level up. What kind of irresponsible cheat is this?
"Display energy absorption progress?"
The Warcraft Elf System's voice entered Huang Long's ears, making his head jolt slightly.
"Haha, that's exactly what I wanted! Yes, yes, yes! Of course I choose yes!" Huang Long hurriedly replied. It was like being handed a pillow just when he was sleepy. This Warcraft Elf System was truly considerate.
Huang Long held Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker in his hand and carried the Ancestor Staff on his back. He quietly sat down, and as he looked at the energy absorption progress before him, his tightly furrowed brows finally relaxed somewhat.
Level 1: 78%
It seemed that yesterday's efforts had not been useless. But soon, he frowned again. Even a semi-hero archer captain could rise from level one to level four with the same amount of experience, yet he had only improved by such a tiny amount. It was truly torturous!
It seemed that he had to speed up his energy accumulation.
Absorbing energy alone could at most bring him to level five, but the energy required for level five would be unimaginably vast. This island alone contained level-seven lifeforms, which meant the continent definitely held even stronger energy entities. With only this little strength, he absolutely would not survive.
"When the time comes, forget conquering the entire continent—even conquering this island would be a problem!" Huang Long rubbed his head, trying to clear his mind.
"Forget it. Let's eliminate this white tiger first!"
Since he could not think of a solution for now, he would put it aside and focus on wiping out all these monsters before slowly dealing with the aftermath.
His current task was to seize the time and make every effort to eliminate every level-five energy entity that could threaten him, aside from those few level-seven lifeforms. Damn it, he had never expected this island to have nearly thirty level-six lifeforms. If they discovered his Tree of Life or the moonlight water in the Moon Well, they would certainly swarm him together, and he would undoubtedly be destroyed by their combined assault.
There were still twenty-four hours left. He hoped he could achieve an even greater breakthrough.
