"This is the Hokage Building. It holds classified documents and vital records, and it's right in the center of the village. We absolutely cannot fight the First and Second here."
The Third Hokage knew that was a tall order, but Uchiha Yan was probably the only one capable of it right now. Minato could do it, but he would need time, and this place would likely be destroyed by then.
"Easy. Off we go."
After hearing him out, Uchiha Yan raised a hand and snapped his fingers.
The next instant, everyone in the large conference room, including the ninja who had yet to escape, vanished without a trace.
In another blink, they stood in a clearing ten kilometers beyond Konoha's main gate.
"Huh? Where is everyone?"
The Jōnin who had rushed out earlier returned with Anbu reinforcements, only to find that not a single person remained.
"It's Lord Yan's Flying Thunder God!"
"Quick! Search outside the village!"
The Anbu squad leader immediately gave the order.
The group rushed out of the Hokage Building and ran straight into the dozens of Jōnin and clan representatives who had escaped outside.
"What exactly happened?"
Before they could get a clear answer—
Boom!
An Anbu heard a tremendous crash from the direction of the village's main gate. He immediately turned and shouted, "Outside the main gate! Follow me!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The Anbu immediately raced in that direction.
The civilians and ninja they passed along the way stared in bewilderment. "What's going on?"
"Hey, Pingcheng, what happened?"
"Weren't these Anbu supposed to reinforce Lord Third at the Hokage Building? Why are they running outside?"
A Jōnin who had escaped earlier reached out to stop an acquaintance who had peeled away from the Anbu group and questioned him.
The others looked over as well.
