Background / History

Chu Qingyun clashes with Shen Lang in Skyfire City and is forced to withdraw toward Sky Thunder Prefecture. Although he recognizes that he cannot secure the second Hundred Races trial token, he intends to return after honoring a promise to accompany Chu Tiange for a year 645.

His conflict with Shen Xiu develops from combat into a brief, uneasy cooperation. Shen Xiu initially considers Chu Qingyun worth befriending and agrees to guard the perimeter of the Abyss of the Abyss while Chu Qingyun enters alone; Chu Qingyun considers the Saint-grade demonic beast within too dangerous for them to confront together 655. The alliance collapses amid Shen Xiu's jealousy and suspicion, ending in repeated confrontations and Shen Xiu's death at Chu Qingyun's hands 651 653 667.

After traveling through Tianwu Star and Heavenly Martial City, Chu Qingyun faces trials, sect rivalries, and assassination schemes. He defeats hostile Inner Disciples, enters the Tianling Sect's training environment, and uses his strength to challenge the hierarchy between outer and inner disciples 656 664 665.

He later returns to the Chu Family's sphere of influence, where Chu Ba supports his cultivation and Chu Ao reveals that he knows information concerning Chu Qingyun's parents 668.
