Ju Zi dreamed of her father's forced conscription and death in battle, and woke with her desire for revenge renewed. She found Meng Chen asleep on the floor and admired him until he woke to see her standing barefoot beside him.

• After Ye Xishui left, Meng Chen returned to find Ju Zi exhausted in bed and slept on spare bedding on the floor.
• Ju Zi dreamed of the day her father was conscripted, watched him die on the battlefield, and saw Dai Hao celebrated while her parents' bodies lay beneath him.
• Ju Zi woke from the nightmare and wondered whether her parents were urging her to seek revenge sooner.
