The Lich King Falls

Previously, the Lich King Arthas had been toying with his prey for amusement. But after witnessing Shadowmourne, he unleashed his full strength.

Powerful death energy surged from Frostmourne, and hundreds of ghouls crawled out from beneath the ice of the Frozen Throne. These were no ordinary ghouls, or they would not have been buried beneath the Frozen Throne's ice. They were the personal guard knights Arthas had brought to Northrend.

At the sight of these ghouls still clad in the standard armor of the Kingdom of Lordaeron, Lordaeron's Queen Calia Menethil's eyes brimmed with tears. She raised Light's Wrath, and immense Holy Light energy, blazing like fire, instantly engulfed every ghoul and reduced them to ashes.

Light's Wrath was a legendary staff forged by the Scarlet Crusade based on the properties of Ashbringer. It contained incomparably immense Holy Light energy.

Seeing all the ghouls swept away at once, the Lich King Arthas flew into a rage. Endless frost energy gathered within him as he continuously unleashed immensely powerful Howling Blasts.

"Not good. Get inside my Holy Light sanctuary!" Alonsus Faol used Holy Light energy to create a small sanctuary, protecting everyone within it.

The Sun King Kael'thas Sunstrider also lent a hand. Using Flamestrike as reinforcement, he combined a fire shield with the Holy Light sanctuary, forming a barrier of Holy Light and flame.

At first, the shield created jointly by Alonsus Faol and the Sun King Kael'thas Sunstrider could withstand the Lich King Arthas's Howling Blasts. But as time passed, the Howling Blasts of the Lich King Arthas, who possessed nearly limitless energy, grew increasingly powerful, while Alonsus Faol and the Sun King Kael'thas Sunstrider were exhausting their energy too rapidly to hold out much longer.
