Background / History

Su Ran grew up in Qingping Town, where he spent a carefree childhood with Mu Yao. As they grew older, his feelings for her became romantic, but he never confessed. Mu Yao left with her family for a distant city before he could speak, leaving Su Ran consumed by regret; he later discovered through her diary that she had loved him as well. 20

On a rainy day in Luo City, Su Ran entered Lin Xiao's café and told her his story. Their repeated conversations gradually drew him out of his grief, and they developed a close relationship. When Lin Xiao discovered the magical Sands of Time hourglass, Su Ran used it to return to the past, confess to Mu Yao, and resolve their mutual regret. He then returned to Lin Xiao, choosing a future with her rather than remaining bound to the past. 20

Su Ran and Lin Xiao began operating the café together. Their intervention in time disrupted temporal balance, however, drawing the attention of Cangyan, a guardian of time. Through the hourglass, both had developed a resonance with temporal power; under Cangyan's guidance, they learned time magic and became defenders against threats to time and space. 21
