How to Defeat It

"The outcome of this battle was decided from the very beginning." The voice rang out again, sounding somewhat smug. "No matter what you do, no matter how many times you defeat it, it's meaningless. Space Beast Reality's ability is invincible. If once isn't enough, then twice. If twice isn't enough, then ten times. It cannot die, and no matter how strong you are, you have limits. Sooner or later, it will defeat you."

Richard was unimpressed.

Invincible?

Perhaps. This Space Beast's special ability did sound invincible. Any fatal wound or direct kill would trigger its ability and erase the reality unfavorable to it. In other words, as long as this ability remained active, it could never be defeated.

But there was no such thing as absolute invincibility in this world. Every ability had a way to counter it.

The Space Beast roared and closed in once more, moving no differently from its previous attempts. Its sharp claws slashed down, reaching straight for Nexus's forehead.

Nexus knocked aside the swipe with his palm and countered with a punch. Relying on its tough hide and thick flesh, the Space Beast took the blow head-on, then launched a flurry of claw strikes like raindrops.

Fortunately, its strength was not particularly great by Nexus's standards. He could still handle and deflect its attacks with relative ease, while finding openings to counterattack with his fists and feet.

In mere moments, the Space Beast took several more punches, suffering fresh injuries all over its body.

Nexus deflected its swinging arm, snapped a kick into its waist, then drove another kick into its chest and abdomen. With his foot planted against the Space Beast's chest, he pushed off and launched himself into the air, his other leg whipping viciously into its face. The blow split its cheek
