After Gu Heng finished speaking, no one in the classroom spoke first.

Sudo looked toward the long-distance events column, Hirata at the Private Points column, while Horikita stared at the conditions already sent by the other classes.

The first to stand was an ordinarily inconspicuous boy.

"I'm willing to give up my Relay reserve spot."

Sudo turned to him. "You were already on the reserve list."

"That's why I have something to give up." The boy placed his personal review page on the desk. "But I won't accept using my name in exchange for information about another class."

The third line recorded his conditions: willing to exchange event eligibility, unwilling to disclose personal training records, and unwilling to bear additional class point expenditures.

Gu Heng did not expand those words into the stance of the entire class.

"These are your terms of exchange, not Class D's unified position."

The boy nodded. "I know."

Horikita placed his page into the personal column and took out another class application page.

"If the other class accepts, we still need to confirm three things: the party involved, the event, and who bears responsibility."

Ichinose from Class B responded quickly. She was willing to provide a long-distance reserve, but required Class D not to propose a second exchange with Class B regarding the Relay event.

This time, the boy proposing the exchange did not agree immediately.

He looked at Gu Heng. "Would this prevent Class D from making adjustments later?"

"It would," Gu Heng said. "What you're exchanging for is a reserve now, not freedom in the future."

"Then I won't accept."

Ichinose did not ask for his reasons. She merely withdrew the condition to the pending column.

Hirata looked at the boy. "After you refuse, the long-distance reserve spot might not remain available either."
