The Jonin's voice was very calm.
He stood up and removed his hand from Lin's forehead, and the blue light slowly dissipated.
He moved his wrist, and the bones made a clicking sound. His eyes swept from Kakashi Hatake, then landed on Obito Uchiha, and finally turned back to Kakashi Hatake.
"That loser outside can't even stop two brats."
He said, there was no anger or regret in his tone, just a touch of disgust.
"It's better to die, so as not to be embarrassed."
Kakashi Hatake stood at the entrance of the cave, staring at the jounin with his right eye. The bandage on his left eye was soaked with blood, and the dark red blood almost turned black in the dim light.
He was holding the White Fang short sword in his hand, with the tip of the sword facing down, and the blood of the jounin just now was still on the blade.
Obito Uchiha stood half a step beside him, staring at the jounin with his red eyes, and the two Tomoe slowly rotated in his pupils.
The two people didn't speak. They looked at each other and then moved at the same time.
Kakashi Hatake rushed up from the left, holding the short sword in front of him, with the tip pointed directly at the jounin's throat.
His pace was a little slower than usual, he lost too much blood, and he felt dizzy for a while, but his knife was very steady, just like his father's back then.
Obito Uchiha walked around from the right, holding Kunai in his hand. His steps were as light as a cat. The pair of Sharingan captured every subtle movement of the Jonin clearly.
The shoulders are slightly lowered, the center of gravity is on the left foot, and the right hand is resting on the handle of the knife at the waist.
The jounin drew his sword.
It was a Ninja Blade, one inch longer than an ordinary knife. The blade was ground extremely thin and glowed cold blue under the oil lamp. His movements were so fast that even Obito Uchiha and Sharingan couldn't keep up.
The blade cut through the air, making a sharp hiss, like something was screaming.
Kakashi Hatake's short knife came forward, and the two blades collided, causing a string of sparks to burst out.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Three crisp sounds and three strings of sparks.
Kakashi Hatake was shocked back two steps, his mouth was numb, and he almost lost his hand with the short knife.
His body swayed, his head became dizzy, and the scene in front of him had some double images.
But he gritted his teeth and did not fall.
The jounin didn't give him a chance to breathe.
The blade slashed down from above, with the sound of wind, murderous intent, and a ferocious force that could split a person in half.
Kakashi Hatake raised his knife to block, and there was another crisp sound. His knees bent and he almost knelt down.
Then Obito Uchiha arrived.
Kunai stabbed from the side and went straight to the Jonin's ribs. The Jonin's sword turned in one direction in mid-air, turned sideways to block it, and with a ding, Obito Uchiha's Kunai was bounced away.
But Obito Uchiha did not retreat. His other hand had already taken out the second Kunai from the ninja tool bag and stabbed the Jonin in the abdomen.
Sharingan could clearly see the movements of the Jonin.
Kunai scratched the Jonin's clothes, leaving a shallow blood mark on his waist.
The Jonin frowned.
This kid's eyes.
In red, two Tomoe are spinning.
"Sharingan." The Jonin said, with a hint of seriousness in his voice, "I see."
He held the knife in front of him in a defensive posture, no longer as casual as before.
His Taijutsu is more than one level stronger than the jounin outside. Every blow is fast and hard, and the angle is so tricky that it is difficult to guard against it.
But Obito Uchiha's eyes can see through his movements, and Kakashi Hatake's knife can block his attacks. The two of them work together like partners who have been training together for a long time.
Kakashi Hatake attacked from the front, slashing with the short sword one after another, leaving no chance to breathe.
Obito Uchiha wandered from the side, and Kunai picked out the gap in the Jonin's defense and stabbed in, almost killing him every time.
The jounin was forced to retreat continuously, and the gravel under his feet was crunched.
The Jonin's sword struck down, Kakashi Hatake raised his sword to block, the two swords were placed together in mid-air, the blades rubbing against each other made a harsh sound.
The Jonin's strength was much greater than that of Kakashi Hatake, which made his arm bend down little by little, and the blade got closer and closer to his shoulder.
Obito Uchiha rushed up from the side, and Kunai went straight to the Jonin's back.
The Jonin had to withdraw his sword and retreat. With a ding, Obito Uchiha's Kunai was bounced away, but Kakashi Hatake's short sword had already arrived.
The blade of the blade slashed across the Jonin's chest, stretching from his left shoulder to his right rib. A long gash was cut in his clothes, and blood seeped out from inside, dyeing the gray fabric dark red.
The jounin staggered two steps, looked down at the wound on his chest, then raised his head and looked at the two brats in front of him.
One's head was covered in blood and he could hardly stand, but he held the knife tighter than anyone else.
One eye was as red as hot coals, and the two Tomoes were spinning rapidly in the pupils, like two stars on fire.
The corners of the Jonin's mouth moved, not sure if he wanted to laugh or to say something.
But before he could open his mouth, Kakashi Hatake's knife had already arrived.
The sword was so fast that the Jonin didn't even have time to blink.
The blade cut across his neck, bringing up a string of blood beads, which looked like a string of red beads under the light of the oil lamp. They fell to the ground and broke into pieces.
The Jonin's body stiffened for a moment, then slowly fell down.
He was lying on the ground, still holding the knife in his hand, but he no longer had the strength to lift it up.
Blood seeped out from under his body, turning the soil on the ground into a dark red color.
Kakashi Hatake stood in front of him, gasping for air. His knife was covered in blood, and his hands were covered in blood. He couldn't tell whether it belonged to a jounin or his own.
His head felt dizzy and the world in front of him was spinning, but he held on and did not fall.
Obito Uchiha ran over, glanced at him, and then at the jounin who fell on the ground. After confirming that he was no longer moving, he turned around and ran towards Lin.
"Lin! Lin!" Obito Uchiha knelt beside Lin and reached out to pat her face. Her face was very cold, her skin was so white that it was almost transparent, her eyelashes trembled slightly, but her eyes did not open.
Kakashi Hatake came over and squatted on the other side of Lin.
He put the dagger back into the scabbard at his waist, stretched out his bloody hand, and pressed it on Lin's forehead.
His fingers were shaking, but he took a deep breath to stop the shaking.
Blue chakra seeped out from his palm and spread along Lin's forehead, like water seeping into dry soil.
He has solved illusions many times, during training and during missions.
But this time his hands were shaking, not because of blood loss or pain, but because of fear.
He was afraid that he wouldn't be able to untie it, that Lin wouldn't be able to wake up, that that idiot Obito Uchiha only saved one person with his life--
Lin's eyelashes twitched.
"Lin!" Obito Uchiha's voice was urgent and bright, like a lighted lamp.
Lin's eyes slowly opened.
Those brown eyes first turned around in confusion, looking at the rocks on the ceiling of the cave, and at the rickety oil lamp next to them, and then fell on Obito Uchiha's face, then on Kakashi Hatake's face.
Her lips moved and she made a very soft sound.
"Kakashi Hatake...Obito Uchiha..."
"It's okay." Kakashi Hatake said, his voice hoarse like sandpaper rubbed against a stone, "Let's go."
