Shen Ye arrives in Qingshan County as the Heavenly Supervision Bureau’s representative to investigate an evil cult. He selects a small team—Fang Xing, Xu Zhengxiong, Chen Shan, and Lin Zheng—while excluding Yang Bo after exposing Fang’s Dark Force cultivation. 23 24

At Lingyuan Temple, Shen Ye infiltrates the cult stronghold and confronts its abbot. His attack wounds the cult’s one-armed Transformation Force leader, enabling Fang Xing to finish the opponent during the escape. Shen Ye praises Fang’s contribution and promises fair treatment. 25 26

Recruitment of Fang Xing

After the Black Wolf Cult is eliminated, Shen Ye formally offers Fang Xing a place in the Heavenly Supervision Bureau if he can reach Transformation Force within two years. He later provides the Long-Life Inner Elixir Art as an investment in Fang’s breakthrough. 38 39
