As Dalaran's chief archmage and the Speaker of the Kirin Tor for several decades, Antonidas held an illustrious and unshakable place in the hearts of Dalaran's people, thanks to his power and wisdom.
His wise, fatherly face had become the public image of the Kirin Tor.
It could be said that even in Dalaran, a city ruled by a large number of mages and with a government closest to an elite republic, Antonidas possessed authority nearly equal to that of a king through sheer prestige.
Though he was now advanced in years, Antonidas remained the most powerful mage on the continent in the eyes of most Dalaran citizens.
Now, upon suddenly hearing that Antonidas had been seriously injured while recovering stolen artifacts, most people's first reaction was disbelief.
That was Antonidas. How could he possibly be injured so easily?
Faced with the crowd's doubts, Ye Ting did not argue. He merely looked toward Ansirem and Modera beside him.
Modera stepped forward first:
"I was present with Ansirem during the operation to recover the artifacts. I can testify that everything Archmage Sandor has said is true.
"Though I do not wish to admit it either, unfortunately, Antonidas truly has been injured. For the time being, he cannot take responsibility for Dalaran's defenses."
Ansirem confirmed this as well.
The statements of the two Kirin Tor councilors forced those present to accept the fact, however unwilling they were.
They would have to temporarily lose their chief archmage.
However, that was not the end. An even more terrifying truth came from Ye Ting's mouth:
"In fact, during the entire theft, the undead who tunneled into the vault could have stolen far more precious supplies and magical items. They could have plundered a large portion of Dalaran's wealth and accumulated resources, weakening Dalaran's strategic reserves.
