Though more than a third of its people had perished, they had at least preserved most of their surviving strength, driven out the invaders, and earned a chance to recuperate.
While others rebuilt the defensive network and restored production, Sylvanas herself had not been idle. On one hand, the temporary leader had sent word to Dalaran, recalling their crown prince, Kael'thas, to stabilize the situation. On the other, she personally led a force out of Silvermoon City and into Eversong Woods, clearing out the undead left behind on Quel'Thalas's soil and rescuing the surviving refugees.
Everyone else had their own duties as well.
After inheriting Salorian's holy sword, Quel'Delar, Liadrin was naturally regarded by many High Elf soldiers as Quel'Thalas's new protector. After this battle, she and her paladins had truly established their prestige among the High Elves, coming to be seen as the backbone capable of defending Quel'Thalas rather than the marginalized band of religious zealots they had once been.
Now, she and Dawnslayer Lelora were each leading teams among the people, using the Holy Light to soothe their wounded hearts.
As for Vereesa, the youngest Windrunner sister, long sheltered by her elder sisters, had finally gained the chance to stand on her own amid the manpower shortage. She had now been temporarily promoted to Ranger General and was participating in Silvermoon City's defense.
As for Ye Ting, he too had been entrusted with an important task: finding a way to relocate the Sunwell from the Isle of Quel'Danas to Silvermoon City.
Quel'Thalas's mages had suffered devastating losses in the war against the Scourge, especially at the highest levels. Ye Ting
