Andorhal was a city on the border between the Lordaeron Kingdom and the former Alterac Kingdom.
As one of the rare plains nestled among the mountains, located near the abundant waterways of Caer Darrow Lake, Andorhal possessed fertile soil and a thriving agricultural economy. Before it fell to the undead, Andorhal had been the largest grain-producing region in the southern Reach of the Lordaeron Kingdom. In terms of grain production, even the fertile Hillsbrad Foothills could not compare.
And for a feudal kingdom, agriculture was the foundation of everything.
Precisely because of this, Andorhal had become one of the most densely populated regions in all of Lordaeron, second only to the royal capital, Lordaeron City. The entire region was filled with towns and villages, home to countless citizens of Lordaeron. Besides grain, it was also one of Lordaeron's largest sources of soldiers.
Unfortunately, that was exactly why Andorhal had caught the Scourge's attention.
At the very beginning of the disaster, the Cult of the Damned lurking within the Lordaeron Kingdom had already marked Andorhal as one of its most important targets.
They placed a plague curse within Andorhal's granaries. As Andorhal's grain was sent throughout Lordaeron, the Scourge's plague spread with it.
Naturally, as the source of the disaster, Andorhal itself was among the first places to suffer.
Then Arthas came here. The prince, not yet fallen, discovered the signs in time and saved the place from the undead's clutches. Yet ironically, not long afterward, Arthas returned, Frostmourne in hand, and turned the once-prosperous town into scorched earth.
As Lordaeron's princess, Calia had once been fortunate enough to visit this place with her father as a child. She still remembered how bustling the town had been then, the merchants hawking their wares in the streets, the farmers passing by in
