Lu Chen pondered. Garurumon was a product of the Digital World. It looked like a wolf, but its Baby form was Unimon, shaped like a ball with a hardened horn on its head, incredibly tough and sharp.

Unimon's special move was Bubble Blow. It was practically harmless, not even as lethal as the horn on its head. At this stage, Unimon could be said to be extremely weak.

"Forget it, you're the one, Unimon. Hehehe, a Digimon in Douluo Continent? Only I could pull that off."

"But how should I modify it?"

Lu Chen found himself in a bit of a predicament.

If he transformed Gou Sheng's soul into the form of Unimon, the Soul Gem could easily accomplish that.

In that case, if Gou Sheng worked hard and cultivated diligently throughout its difficult dog life, and was fortunate enough to obtain its first soul ring, it would become the first dog Soul Master on Douluo Continent.

If its talent was strong enough and its luck good enough, it might even cultivate into a Titled Douluo, leaving behind a legend on Douluo Continent as the Dog Douluo.

"If that really happened, wouldn't most people be inferior even to a dog? How would those Soul Masters feel about that?" Lu Chen's expression became quite animated.

"But even so, Gou Sheng's martial soul would only be Unimon."

"It would be completely different from Digimon, which could evolve endlessly."

"Unimon's evolution line seemed to be Gabumon, then Garurumon, then WereGarurumon, with MetalGarurumon and OmniGarurumon as its final Ultimate evolutions."

"I remember Nine Heart Begonia. No matter what soul ring it acquired, its Soul Skills were always the same, practically fixed. I'll modify Gou Sheng according to that concept."

"When Gou Sheng obtains its first soul ring, it will increase the attack power of Unimon's Bubble Blow. Upon obtaining its second soul ring, Bubble Blow will gain an explosive effect and explode upon hitting an enemy.

"When it obtains its third soul ring, its martial soul will evolve while retaining its previous skills, becoming Gabumon. Petit Fire's attack power will also be strengthened. Upon obtaining its fourth soul ring, Petit Fire will become a massive fireball. (Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu)

"When it obtains its fifth soul ring, Gabumon's martial soul will evolve into Garurumon, retaining its previous skills while strengthening the attack power and temperature of Fox Fire. Upon obtaining its sixth soul ring, Fox Fire will evolve into Eternal Black Flame, which will continue burning as long as the enemy still possesses Soul Power." (Amaterasu)

"Upon obtaining its seventh soul ring, it will retain its previous skills and evolve into WereGarurumon, while strengthening Kaiser Nail and Crescent Moon Scimitar.

"Upon obtaining its eighth soul ring, it will evolve into MetalGarurumon, and Absolute Freezing Air and Freeze Bomb will be enhanced.

"When it obtains its ninth soul ring, it will still retain its previous skills and complete its final evolution, evolving into OmniGarurumon."

After setting all that up, Lu Chen's Soul Gem and Reality Gem erupted with yellow and red light, beginning to modify Gou Sheng according to his specifications.

The process was not as long as Lu Chen had expected. When a round Unimon with a single horn appeared above Gou Sheng's head, Lu Chen knew the modification had been a success.

As expected of the Infinite Gems. Even something as seemingly inconceivable as this was completed in the blink of an eye.

This was practically an ability that only a Creator God could possess.

"Next, I'll grant Gou Sheng intelligence!"

"I wonder what Gou Sheng's first reaction will be after gaining sentience?"

Lu Chen did not think too much about it, because he would find out soon enough.

The orange Mind Gem activated. The power of the mind was powerful and mysterious; like the Law of Soul, it was one of the universe's supreme laws.

With the Mind Gem paired with the Soul Gem, even a stone could come alive if the Soul Gem granted it a soul and the Mind Gem granted it intelligence and wisdom, much less Gou Sheng, which already possessed a soul and intelligence.

A moment later, Lu Chen put away his Infinite Gem martial soul and began examining Gou Sheng, who was lying on the ground.

"Gou Sheng?"

Lu Chen called softly and gently nudged it with his foot. Perhaps because the Soul Gem's modification process had been too comfortable, Gou Sheng had actually fallen asleep.

"Heh, the familiar recipe, the familiar flavor." Lu Chen sneered. He moved close to Gou Sheng's ear, cleared his throat, and took a deep breath.

"AM I PROSPEROUS THIS YEAR!!!"

"WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!"

The sleeping Gou Sheng was startled awake once more. Its tail tucked in again as it ran far away and barked wildly at Lu Chen.

"Hmph! Now you know how amazing I am, right? I worked so hard to modify you and gave you a chance to be reborn as a dog, yet you actually fell asleep? If you reach the pinnacle of dog life someday, will you still respect me?"

Gou Sheng woke up.

After barking wildly for a moment, it seemed to realize something was wrong.

It tilted its head and stared at Lu Chen, who stood not far away, its eyes full of confusion and incomprehension.

It seemed to be thinking, though no one knew what it was thinking about.

Eventually, it began to grow anxious, pacing back and forth in place while keeping its eyes fixed on Lu Chen.

"Hm? Did the Mind Gem make it stupid while granting it intelligence? That shouldn't be possible."

Watching Gou Sheng's behavior, although it did indeed seem somewhat different, this was not what Lu Chen had expected.

"Gou Sheng?" Lu Chen called out tentatively.

When Gou Sheng heard that Lu Chen seemed to be calling it, the anxious dog that had been pacing in place suddenly rushed over.

It wagged its tail furiously and tried to leap onto Lu Chen. "Dad, Dad!"

"What!!??"

Lu Chen was shocked. What had he just heard?

Lu Chen was stunned, not because Gou Sheng could talk. After all, he had used the Mind Gem to grant it intelligence; that was only to be expected.

But the problem was that Gou Sheng had actually called him Dad!!

Lu Chen's face immediately darkened.

A dog had actually called him Dad!!

Who the hell could put up with that?

If people found out he was a dog's father, how could he ever face anyone again?

"Get lost ⊙﹏⊙ Don't call me Dad!"

"Dad, Dad, you're my dad."

Gou Sheng circled around Lu Chen, its tail still wagging nonstop.

"You insolent creature, I enlightened you, yet you fail to appreciate my kindness and actually want to acknowledge me as your father? This is unacceptable! Leave at once."
